First Impression

In this activity, everyone gathered in a circle and started sharing their first impressions of two peers of their choice. As expected, everyone in the class are nice and only said good things about each other. Some comments were funny.

My peers' first impressions of me are really cool. They all said that I'm a nice person, easy to talk to and surprisingly, one remark was unusually flattering. Someone mentioned that I seem soft and fragile, it made him felt like he wants to protect me. I appreciated it and am grateful for everyone's kind words.

After that activity, we were divided into groups of five to six. Then, we have to use sticks and straws to build the highest and most stable model. The winning group gets extra marks for our finals. There were a few twist and turns during this game, the one that my group and I hated the most was exchanging one of our members away because each one of our members contributed an indispensable effort that makes the teamwork so great. However, we made it work and accepted our new member.

My group won the game but we still make it a case to our lecturer to award our original member the extra marks we all equally deserve. Miss Pang approved with the condition that we all have to sacrifice half of our rewarded marks to make it up for that member. We did not even hesitate to agree and that to me was what made my group the winner that day.

Team spirit is vital to fuel a functioning teamwork, team spirit is a necessity and the key of becoming the winning group. That to me was the most important lesson, more important tha getting extra marks.

Extra credit for finals will only be there till the semester ends. Gaining a valuable lesson is for a lifetime. To me, that should be the constitutive rubric of this class, Personal Development.
